Job Description:

Purpose:

A leading financial services company specialising in alternative funding solutions for small and medium-sized businesses is seeking a commercially sharp Marketing Manager who is responsible to run the full marketing function at the company. A Head of Marketing may be a requirement going forward, to be sourced

This is not a primary brand awareness role — it sits at the intersection of revenue, channels, and execution. You'll work directly with the MD and two primary revenue channels (Direct and Partnerships), manage our lead digital and brand agency operationally and in support of revenue generating Business Units, and hold the brand standard across everything we put into market

You'll be the most senior marketing person in the business currently, reporting directly to the MD, and you'll operate across strategy and execution simultaneously. This is a hands-on role in a fast-moving environment


Key Job Outputs:

Channel support — Direct and Partnerships

  • Support the Head of Direct with digital lead generation, database nurturing, and Sales Executive marketing and outreach materials
  • Support the Head of Partnerships with campaign creation and execution across partner channels, working alongside Partnership Managers
  • Provide marketing support for Retention — existing clients, top-up campaigns, and lifecycle engagement

Brand and content

  • Own and protect the company brand across all channels and touchpoints.
  • Translate complex financial products into clear, audience-relevant messaging for SME business owners.
  • Own all content creation and management — internal and external — including collateral, digital assets, and campaign copy.
  • Manage the website and all digital presence in coordination with Armada.

Agency and supplier management

  • Manage Armada (Lead Agency) at an operational level across digital marketing, SEO, paid media, brand, and the supporting PR agency.
  • Co-ordinate smaller specialist suppliers as required.
  • Ensure consistent agency briefing, delivery standards, and brand quality.

Campaigns and performance

  • Develop and execute campaign strategies across channels, with clear objectives and measurable outcomes.
  • Manage co-branded and JV partner marketing initiatives.
  • Own the marketing tech stack, including Salesforce Marketing Cloud

Reporting and budget

  • Set and manage the marketing budget, including all budget administration.
  • Report on KPIs and budget performance to Exco with full accountability

  • Strong commercial acumen — you understand revenue funnels, unit economics, and how marketing connects to business growth.
  • Comfortable translating business strategy into a marketing strategy, and then executing it yourself.
  • Data-driven: you build dashboards, interpret attribution data, and make decisions based on evidence.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset — you move fast, thrive in ambiguity, and don't wait for perfect conditions.
  • Able to manage agencies and collaborate with Business Unit Heads to get things done through a lean team.
  • Resilient under pace — the company moves quickly; this role is not suited to someone who needs heavy structure or long approval chains


Qualifications:

  • Related degree required; postgraduate qualification preferred


Experience:

  • 6+ years in marketing, with at least 5 years in digital marketing
  • 3+ years at a mid to senior management level
  • Proven track record in performance marketing — Google Ads, Meta Business Manager, GA4, and equivalent tools
  • Experience with marketing automation and CRM-led nurture programmes, ideally in a B2B or B2B2C context
  • Hands-on with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar marketing tech stacks
  • Experience marketing financial products to SMEs is a strong advantage
