GMP Training Officer (Pharmaceutical Manufacturing)
Job Description:
Purpose
A pharmaceutical manufacturer specialising in human plasma products is seeking a GMP Training Officer to develop, implement, and manage a competency-based GMP training programme. The role ensures employees are trained, assessed, and compliant with cGMP and regulatory requirements, supporting a strong quality and compliance culture.
Key Responsibilities
GMP Training & Competency Development
- Develop and maintain a competency-based GMP training system
- Conduct training needs analysis across manufacturing and QA functions
- Develop and update GMP training materials with subject matter experts
- Maintain departmental training matrices aligned to job roles
- Design and deliver GMP induction training for new employees
- Support development of competency assessments and evaluation tools
- Identify and implement modern learning methods including e-learning
Training Execution & Administration
- Plan and coordinate training schedules with departments
- Deliver or facilitate GMP training sessions
- Monitor trainee progress and assessment outcomes
- Follow up on incomplete or unsuccessful assessments
- Maintain accurate, inspection-ready training records
- Manage training systems (e.g. Skillogical or similar platforms)
- Compile training reports and statistics for management reviews
Quality & Compliance Support
- Promote GMP and quality awareness across the organisation
- Support internal audits and compliance initiatives
- Assist with QA system training where required
- Ensure training aligns with regulatory and cGMP requirements

Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in Quality, Life Sciences, GMP or related field
- Training / Learning & Development qualification (advantageous)
Experience
- Minimum 5 years in pharmaceutical manufacturing or QA
- At least 2 years in a training / L&D role
- Strong working knowledge of cGMP and regulated environments
- Experience in adult learning or instructional design
