Purpose:

A leading financial services company specialising in alternative funding solutions for small and medium-sized businesses is seeking a Junior Underwriter with excellent attention to detail. You should be able to efficiently support the credit process by analysing and determining a client’s risk when reviewing applications. You need to be proficient in verbal and written communication as you will prepare and report decision-making data that will contribute to lending decisions made

Key Job Outputs:

• Perform efficient risk assessments of clients and provide feedback to the team
• Assess client background information and financial status
• Review applications for compliance and adherence
• Perform telephonic trade reference checks and any post-credit checks necessary before disbursement of funds
• Communicate recommendations to client’s credit team
• Analyse client performance for any concerning changes
• Efficiently obtain clarifications where concerns are present

Core Competencies:

• Basic understanding of payment terms etc
• Capability to establish a good rapport with clients
• Strong analytical skills
• Problem-solving capabilities

Qualifications:

• Minimum qualification: Matric
• Post-matric qualification is advantageous

Experience:

• At least 3 Years’ experience in a similar role

Salary: Market related
