Job Description:

Purpose:

A Chemical manufacturing company is seeking a Sales Representative – GP who is responsible for Driving sales, providing excellent customer service, and representing the brand in retail environments


Key Job Outputs:

Customer Engagement and Sales

  • Demonstrate product features and benefits to customers, highlighting key selling points and addressing any questions or concerns they may have
  • Utilise effective sales techniques, such as upselling and cross-selling, to maximise revenue opportunities and meet sales targets

Product Knowledge and Training

  • Maintain a deep understanding of the products or services offered by your company, including features, specifications, and pricing
  • Stay informed about new product launches, promotions, and marketing campaigns to effectively communicate information to customers
  • Participate in regular training sessions and product knowledge seminars provided by your employer to enhance your expertise and selling skills

Visual Merchandising and Product Display

  • Ensure that products are attractively displayed and well-organised on shelves, racks, or display cases to enhance their visibility and appeal
  • Monitor inventory levels and restock shelves as needed to maintain product availability and presentation standards
  • Collaborate with store managers and merchandising teams to implement visual merchandising guidelines and promotional displays

Customer Service and Satisfaction

  • Always provide exceptional customer service, demonstrating empathy, patience, and professionalism in every interaction
  • Listen actively to customer feedback and address any concerns or complaints promptly and courteously
  • Anticipate customer needs and proactively offer assistance, product recommendations, and solutions to enhance their shopping experience

Inventory Management and Stock Replenishment

  • Monitor inventory levels and track product movement to identify stock shortages or excess inventory
  • Communicate inventory needs to store management and coordinate replenishment orders with warehouse or distribution teams
  • Conduct regular stock checks and audits to ensure accuracy and prevent shrinkage or loss due to theft or damage

Promotions and Marketing Support

  • Promote special offers, discounts, and promotions to customers, encouraging them to take advantage of limited-time deals
  • Distribute marketing materials such as flyers, brochures, and product samples to increase awareness and drive traffic to your retail location
  • Actively engage in promotional events, product demonstrations, and store activations to generate excitement and buzz around your brand

Team Collaboration and Communication

  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and other team members to achieve common goals and objectives
  • Communicate important information, updates, and feedback to store management and relevant stakeholders in a timely and professional manner
  • Foster a positive and supportive work environment by offering assistance, sharing knowledge, and contributing to team morale

Compliance and Safety

  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines related to sales, customer service, and operational standards
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment by following hygiene protocols, safety regulations, and security measures
  • Report any safety hazards, incidents, or violations to store management or the appropriate authorities as required

Continuous Learning and Development

  • Take initiative to expand your product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service skills through self-study, training programs, and professional development opportunities
  • Seek feedback from supervisors, peers, and customers to identify areas for improvement and actively work to enhance your performance
  • Stay updated on industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activities to remain competitive and adaptable in a dynamic retail environment

Product Feedback and Market Insights

  • Act as a liaison between customers and the company by collecting feedback, suggestions, and insights on products, pricing, and customer preferences
  • Share valuable market insights, trends, and competitive intelligence with store management and relevant departments within the company
  • Provide input and recommendations for product improvements, packaging enhancements, and new product development based on customer feedback and market observations
  • Participate in feedback sessions, focus groups, and product testing initiatives organised by the company to gather input from frontline staff and customers alike
  • Collaborate with product development, marketing, and sales teams to translate customer insights into actionable strategies and initiatives that drive product innovation and differentiation in the marketplace

Problem Resolution and Conflict Management

  • Handle customer complaints, concerns, and conflicts with professionalism, empathy, and patience
  • Listen actively to customer issues, acknowledging their concerns and seeking to understand the root cause of the problem
  • Take ownership of customer issues and proactively work to resolve them to the customer's satisfaction
  • Collaborate with store management and relevant departments to address recurring issues and implement preventive measures
  • Follow established protocols and escalation procedures for handling complex or escalated customer issues
  • Maintain composure and professionalism in challenging situations, de-escalating tense interactions and preserving the customer's trust and loyalty
  • Document customer feedback, resolutions, and follow-up actions to ensure accountability and continuous improvement in customer service delivery

Qualifications and Experience:
