Area Sales Manager
Job Description:
Purpose:
A Pharmaceutical company is seeking an Area Sales Manager who is responsible for both Pharmacy and Dr Detailing representatives. Responsible for planning, implementing, directing sales activities in order to achieve the sales objectives of the company within your region. Assume responsibility and leadership for your regional team. Implement the sales strategy. Seek opportunities for growth in your region. Use established relationships and build new networks to grow the company’s presence in your region. To assist with safety aspects in relation to the pharmacovigilance activities at the company
Key Job Outputs:
- Appoint, retain, coach, manage and inspire sales representatives to achieve sales targets
- Coordinate, manage and oversee divisional sales budget with monthly forecasting
- Setting individual sales targets in accordance to the divisional budget for each respective SRA
- Monthly/ weekly sales reports and updates to both senior management and sales reps to track sales performance
- Strategic planning to realign sales focus continuously to ensure sales targets are met
- Streamlining and maintaining the sales function, including spending time in field with Consumer/ Pharmacy Representative and Dr Detailing representative, ensuring proactive execution of identified strategies for each SRA
- Oversee and manage all infield implementation of POS/ marketing messages in accordance with the marketing/ sales strategy of the company
- Key account Management: Visiting and liaising with identified target clients that are crucial to the performance of the Company:
- Regular visits to Wholesalers & Buying groups to ensure sustained and profitable relationships
- Initiating and implementation of a CRM (electronic customer relation management system)
- Liaising with the National sales Manager with respect to the effective exploitation of the various business opportunities in designated areas
- Responsible for developing, compiling and maintaining company client database
- Submit regular reports to National Sales Manager (Field and sales report)
- Monitor and control sales representative's expenses
- Monitor and control sales representative's incentives - being implemented by marketing
- Manage both divisions - Pharmacy and Dr Detailing representatives
- Travel to Coastal areas monthly - for field working days with representatives
- Compiling and analysing sales figures
- Monitoring Weekly Repwise planning
- Monitoring Leave and other activities
- Reviewing regional expenses and recommending improvements
- Collection of Product Quality Complaints, Adverse events (AE) and adverse drug reactions (ADR) related to company products with the maximum possible level of completeness of information on patient and reporter details such as age, gender etc, company product name, and AE/ADR

Qualifications:
- Matric / Grade 12
- Tertiary Qualifications in Science/ Sales and Marketing or business
Experience:
- Minimum 3- 5 years Healthcare/ Pharmaceutical experience
- Valid Driver’s license and own vehicle
